The Peak District Lead Mining Museum is situated within The Grand Pavilion, on the ground floor.
The Museum houses thousands of items, relics of the lost lead industry, which are explained and interpreted in an imaginative and thought-provoking exhibition. These include hundreds of rock and mineral specimens from around the world. Interactive exhibits and climbing tunnels provide something for the young and the young at heart.
The Museum also run tours to Temple Mine in Matlock Bath. Temple Mine is a working 1920s lead and fluorspar mine, just across the road from the Museum. A guide will take you around the mine, providing an authentic insight into life underground.
The Museum acts as a voluntary Visitor Information Point for Tourist Information. The Museum stocks a wide range of free leaflets for attractions in the area as well as accommodation guides. A variety of tourism books are for sale including walking books, maps and local area guides. The Museum staff will also try their best to help with any queries you may have.

Matlock Bath Pre-School
The Grand Pavilion is proud to support Matlock Bath Pre-school, who use The Community Room during term time weekdays and welcome children from 2-4 years of age.
They are a small and friendly community-based pre-school with highly qualified staff, an excellent reputation and a good Ofsted record, providing high quality care and education for pre-school aged children in a fun, stimulating and caring environment.
