Room Hire

The Grand Pavilion is the only venue within the Derbyshire Dales that can host an audience of over 300 people. Great size and location means we are ideally placed to bring a range of shows and events to you, including comedy, dance, theatre, live music, touring shows, markets, workshops and experiences.

While The Grand Hall is ideal for larger shows and events, our smaller rooms also make interesting venues for more intimate occasions.

UNIQUE PERFORMANCE SPACE

The Grand Hall

Our main auditorium is currently awaiting full renovation, and remains a “little bit scruffy”, however our team of volunteers have done a wonderful job at stripping back its past as a nightclub, uncovering many of its original features, and transforming it into todays wonderfully quirky performance space.

The Grand Hall is a unique and flexible space for performance, rehearsal and celebrations. With a capacity of 320, an incredible and original proscenium stage, an integrated bar and flexible seating options it works very well for a range of uses.

While many of the original features in the Hall go back to 1910 when it was built for the purpose of entertainment and recreation, it’s turbulent past has taken its toll. Many of these features await careful restoration, meanwhile it continues to work as an unusual, industrial space.

Room Features:

  • Proscenium Stage
  • 4 Backstage dressing rooms
  • Integrated bar
  • Basic AV and Lighting Equipment
  • Capacity: 320
  • Multiple configuration options
  • Tables & seating
  • Parking for the purposes of loading/unloading

Please note that The Grand Hall is located on the first floor of a historic building, and is accessed via stairwells. There is no lift access for this building. Please also note that as the Hall is un-refurbished it does not benefit from central heating at this time. We use blow heaters currently, but please keep this in consideration for winter use.

The Restoration Cafe

Our refurbished cafe is available for hire either on its own or in conjunction with our other rooms outside of its usual opening hours. It works wonderfully well as a quiet space to escape a larger event upstairs, and as an area to meet and greet your guests as they arrive.

The ground floor cafe is fully licensed and it is possible to use this area as an additional bar for your event, and/or catering space.

Please talk to us about how our quirky little cafe can be utilised for your next event at The Grand Pavilion:
