Over the decades The Grand Pavilion has remained and integral part of community life and the building has been used in many ways. This remains the case today and we are proud to also be the home to several community services.

Peak District Mining Museum

Discover the life of a Derbyshire mineral miner in this interactive, hands-on and family friendly museum. 

Climb through tunnels, learn about the different mineral and their uses alongside the engines that were part of the industrial revolution and changed mining forever.
Then don a helmet and join a guided tour of Temple mine, a real fluorspar mine from the 1920s, followed by panning for minerals.

Matlock Bath Preschool

Matlock Bath Pre-School is a small friendly community based pre-school with highly qualified staff, an excellent reputation and a goof Ofsted record.

Operating from the ground floor of The Grand Pavilion they provide high quality care and education for pre-school aged children in a fun, stimulating and caring environment.

They have a wide catchment area and previously have accepted children from Matlock Bath, Matlock, Cromford, Wirksworth, Darley Dale, Bonsall, Starkholmes, Brassington and surrounding areas.

Independant Hostel Guide Head Office

Independent Hostels UK ( IHUK ) is UK’s network of independently owned bunkhouses and hostels. With over 350 members it is the largest hostel network in the United Kingdom.
